All of our PADI instructors are certified to teach PADI specialty courses.  If you don’t see a specialty listed, give us a call!

PADI DIVER PROPULSION VEHICLE SPECIALTY

This exciting specialty will allow you to extend your dive adventure by going further, staying longer, and seeing more underwater. As with any new underwater endeavor, there is a system to help you develop techniques needed for diving with a DPV within recreational limits, and while avoiding or disturbing delicate marine life. In order to participate you need to be Junior or Open Water Certified and at least 12 years old. There will be one combination classroom pool session to discuss techniques and practice with the DPV before the two required Open Water dives.

Activity Fee: $275 Includes: Academic materials, two 30-minute dives with the DPV, and Certification Card

PADI UNDERWATER NAVIGATOR

It’s easy to get disoriented underwater if you don’t know how to use a compass or natural navigation clues. Learn how to easily find your way back to boat or shore without returning to the surface and avoid long, exhausting swims. The PADI Underwater Navigator course fine-tunes your observation skills and teaches you to more accurately use your compass underwater. Divers must be Junior or Open Water Certified and at least 10 years old. You will apply your navigation skills in three Open Water dives.

Activity Fee: $250 Includes: E-learning, one combination classroom pool session, three Open Water Dives

PADI SEARCH AND RECOVERY DIVER

Oops! Did your buddy’s mask just go overboard? You can find it with the skills you’ll learn in the PADI Search and Recovery Diver course. In four dives, you’ll locate objects large and small using different search patterns. You’ll get hands-on experience using a lift bag and, on the last dive, you’ll plan and execute a mock search operation. Divers must be (Junior) Advanced Open Water or (Junior) Open Water with Navigation certification and be at least 12 years old.

PADI WRECK DIVER

An underwater wreck can be a ship, airplane, vehicle, or something else. Some are there by accident and others were put there on purpose to form an artificial reef. Wrecks are fascinating to explore and usually teem with aquatic life. In the PADI Wreck Diver course, you’ll learn special finning techniques, potential hazards, and how to set penetration lines. You’ll also survey and map a wreck. Divers must be Adventure Diver certified and at least 15 years old.

Nitrox

ENRICHED AIR, NITROX SPECIALTY

The PADI Enriched Air Diver Course is one of our most popular specialties, and it’s easy to see why. You can typically stay down longer and get back in the water sooner. No wonder many divers choose this as their very first specialty. In order to participate you need to be Open Water Certified and at least 15 years old. This specialty is classroom only and can be completed in one night.

Activity Fee: $225, included: E Learning Link and Certification Card and hands on practical

PADI FULL FACE MASK & UNDERWATER COMMUNICATION SPECIALTIES

Whale Shark Awareness Specialty.

Whale sharks are the largest fish in the sea, often called gentle giants. Yet little is known about their activities or population size. Research and monitoring programs are helping fill these knowledge gaps. Learn about whale shark biology, behavior and distribution in this course.

Combine this specialty with one of our Georgia Aquarium Whale Shark Experience trips or whenever you may encounter whale sharks (like our 2024 Philippines trip). And use this as non-diving specialty allowed as credit towards the coveted PADI Master Scuba Diver Certification.

CORAL REEF CONSERVATION SPECIALTY

At Easy Divers we are committed to protecting all of our aquatic environments. This lecture-only specialty, non-diving, program has an online academic section and one classroom session. With the knowledge you gain, you will be better equipped to take personal steps to protect our oceans, reefs, lakes, and quarries. This is a great winter time activity and is open to divers and friends of all ages.

Class tuition is $75 per person and includes: online learning link, classroom session with a Staff Instructor, a PADI Coral Reef Conservation Specialty card, and Project Aware Certification card. Divers and non-divers will enjoy this class.

We will also be doing some brainstorming to come up with some ideas for Easy Divers Memphis to become more proactive in protecting our own local aquatic environments. Please join us in our effort to protect our oceans, lakes and quarries.
